These turtles are often mistook with green turtles. However, the biss is much smaller and has a brown color of the pointed carapace shields. Despite their endangered status, these turtles are frequent visitors to the Fuvahmulah reefs. There is enough food and shelter for them from predators. Like other sea turtles, they spend almost their entire lives in the ocean and feed on benthic invertebrates. They only come out on land to lay their eggs.
In addition, turtles swim calmly next to divers, but we urge you to maintain only visual contact with them.
